Cold Storage Refrigeration Equipment
Food preservation entails keeping it cool during transportation, processing, storage, and distribution. Many cold stores use massive amounts of electricity each year; therefore, reducing energy consumption has become a critical, practical issue for the industry.
JUNDE's solar variable-frequency condensing systems employ solar power to reduce electricity costs and load on the grid. Cold storage is particularly well suited to on-site solar for three reasons:
- Roof space is a secondary use for idle space. Cold stores contain enormous expanses of unoccupied roof, making them suitable for a PV array and putting a large footprint to productive use.
- High, stable load around the clock. Cold rooms operate 24 hours a day with a high, consistent electrical load, exactly the profile where solar contributes the most to cost savings.
- Longer roof life. PV panels protect the roof from direct sunlight, rain, and debris, extending its life and reducing stress on the structure beneath.
For cold-chain and storage facilities, the entire range of solar direct-drive condensing units may be tailored to the available roof and floor space.
